Dying with Your Music Inside You? Making Your Dreams Come True

imgres

I’m in the dream-chasing business.

I spend my days helping people improve their lives, accomplish their goals and make dreams come true. I help them overcome internal and external hurdles. I am well versed in the limiting reasons people have that keep them from overcoming obstacles. Here, in no particular order, is my list of the top ten reasons people don’t make their dreams come true.

  1. I’m too… (Fill in the blank)
    old.
    young.
    set in my ways.

  1. It’s too…
    late.
    soon.
    risky.
    Add your reason______________________________.
  1. I don’t know how.
  2. It won’t…
    work.
    last.
    be right.
    Add your reason______________________________.
  1. I tried it once and it didn’t work.
  1. I’m afraid…
    of failure.
    of success.
of achieving it and then losing it.
of what other people will think of me.
    Add your reason______________________________.
  1. I think dreams are:
    silly.
    unrealistic.
    impractical.
    Add your reason______________________________.
  1. I don’t have enough…
    intelligence.
    time.
    connections.
    Add your reason______________________________.
  1. I don’t know where to start.

10.Other people said I can’t.

Overcoming Your Obstacles

Queen Victoria’s Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli observed,

“Most people die with their music still locked up inside them.”

What a tragedy.

Dreams are real.

Dreams matter.

Dreams can come true.

Want your dreams to come true?

Look at the reasons above.

Pick the ones that apply to you and take the following steps:

#1- Set a goal that in the next 30 days you will talk to at least five successful people who have made THEIR dreams come true and are:

Doing what they love, and

Are viewed by others as models and/or mentors.

#2 – When you find those people, ask them:

  • How they got started.
  • What obstacles they faced and how and why they were able to overcome those obstacles.
  • What they have learned from their failures and successes.
  • What, if anything, they would do differently if they knew then what they know now.

#3 – Tell them about the obstacles you are facing and ask them for advice in overcoming those obstacles.

Where do you find these people?

Start asking everyone you know these types of questions:

  • “Who are the most successful people you know?
  • “Why do they view them as successful?”
  • “Who inspires you and why?”

Then ask them if they would make an introduction for you to those people.

Keep asking until you find people who will talk to you.

#4- When you are finished with the conversations, take the suggestions that make sense to you and begin applying them. Don’t stop until your dream becomes a reality.

Then- Watch what happens as you begin to unlock the music!

With help, persistence, and a plan your dreams ABSOLUTELY CAN COME TRUE!
